Elder Holland Introduces “Meet the Mormons” Movie

Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles introduced “Meet the Mormons” movie to a packed audience at Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 17th 2014. Elder Holland described what he believes is one reason why this film will be widely accepted and well-received by audiences across the world, “It’s not about Mormonism; it’s about some extraordinary people who are Mormons.”

The film follows six members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as they share their personal stories and answer questions regarding their faith and lifestyle choices. This inspirational documentary demonstrates how strong Mormon families come together through love, service, sacrifice, hope and joy despite life’s challenges or circumstances.

“Meet the Mormons” is a film that allows viewers to get to know these families and individuals in their own words, which makes it distinctive when compared to other films about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Director Blair Treu explained, “We were trying to do something very different than what had been done before…the best way to do it was with real people…”
