Please Help Us Improve the Mormon Channel

Mormon Channel

Thank you to those who recently completed the survey about Church-produced audio content. The information gathered was helpful in launching the new Mormon Channel and will continue to be helpful as the Church develops new programming for the station. As a follow-up to the survey, we are planning to conduct focus groups in the Salt Lake area to gather additional information related to audio content preferences and consumption. If you are willing to participate, please send an email to mcdonaldjk@ldschurch.org. If you don’t live near Salt Lake City, we would still love to hear your feedback and suggestions regarding the Mormon Channel. You can send these to radio@ldschurch.org.  Thank you for your support.

New “Blessings of the Temple” MormonMessages Video

Please view the video and consider posting it on your Facebook profile, blog, or personal webpage. In this way, you can help the Church distribute accurate information about our temples to the world. Other ways you can help include the following:

  1. If you have not already done so, please subscribe to the MormonMessages channel. This will alert you when new videos are posted and will give the channel greater visibility on YouTube.
  2. Rate and comment on the videos available on MormonMessages.
  3. Mark your favorite MormonMessages videos as “Favorites.” This increases the visibility of these videos on YouTube.
  4. Tell friends, family members, and ward members about this video and the new MormonMessages channel. Many Saints are still unaware of this new resource which makes it easy to share the gospel online.
  5. Join the MormonMessages Facebook Group and invite others to join as well.

Your help and support are greatly appreciated. Together, we can take the messages of the living Prophets and Apostles to the world.

“MormonMessages” Update

Over the weekend, the MormonMessages YouTube channel was awarded two distinctions—#9 most-subscribed channel (this week) and #29 most-subscribed channel (this month). We continue to receive an overwhelmingly positive response to these weekly video offerings. Between Facebook and YouTube, we are close to having 10,000 subscribers. Having recently obtained Content Partner status, we are now in the process of determining what can be customized on the channel to improve the user experience.most-subscribed4

Support LDS Videos Online

The More Good Foundation has posted a great video on YouTube on how to support Mormon videos online (shown below). It explains how to join YouTube.com and LDS.net so you can support the Church and other LDS videos online.

The post The Best Thing You Can Do To Help Mormons on YouTube.com also has some great ideas.

Joy to Everyone

Please enjoy this 4 minute Christmas video from Stpephen Jones and some other folks in the BYU College of Fine Arts and Communications.

What a delightful expression–worth forwarding to everyone you know.

Baby Boomers Online

Here are some statistics about the 77.2 million people in the U.S. known as “baby boomers” (currently aged 44-62):

  • They make up the largest group of U.S. Internet users. There are 56.7 million of them, representing nearly 30% of the online population.
  • About 74% of them use the Internet at least once a month.
  • They go online to get things done, such as finding information on products and services, shopping, and staying in touch with friends and family. (Not quite the same love affair as Gen Xers have with the Internet; it’s more a marriage of convenience for Baby Boomers.)
  • They are not all the same. Older boomers (ages 54-62) use media more like those over 62 and younger boomers (44-53) act more like Gen Xers online.
