This widget is awesome looking and invites clicks!

I’d like to offer a bit of feedback….

When you click on the link it takes you to a generic payment page which describes making a generic payment to an organization with many different projects. It does NOT give one the feeling their contribution will go directly to Hurricane Sandy. I know this organization is top notch and would trust them to delegate my donation to wherever it is needed most. But most people don’t think with the big picture in mind. As a PR person, I can tell you the landing page does not invite follow-through. Most people who wish to contribute directly to Hurricane Sandy need some kind of assurance that is where their particular funds will be allocated. And that goes for any specific disaster.

I would gladly put this widget on my blog site which gets a fair amount of traffic, except for the landing page not matching the message on the widget. Rule #1 of online click advertising – the landing page has to specifically match the ad.

Having said that, I love your blog.

Shawnie, thanks for the feedback. You’re exactly right. I’ll pass it along to LDS Philanthropies.
