Reality TV Show About Mormon Missionaries

by Larry Richman on October 6, 2012

BYUtv has a new reality show that chronicles the gospel-filled adventures of eight real-life Mormon missionaries.

“The District” will premiere on BYUtv this Sunday, October 7, at 6:30 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. It is the first reality series on television that follows the lives of real LDS missionaries. In this unscripted, actor-less documentary series, you’ll meet 8 young men and women who serve LDS missions in San Diego, California. You’ll also meet the diverse characters they come across each day, from hospitable investigators to hostile passersby.

BYUtv is available in the United States via satellite, cable, and the Internet. See listings.

This looks really cool! Creative transparency. It should be as helpful to non-Mormons as it will to all of the future missionaries, and thousands of extra missionaries preparing early service due to the recent lowered age of eligibility. Is it airing weekly? Do you know if episodes will be available online?

Yes, it’s weekly on Sunday nights.
