I’m an instructor in my high priests group. The manual asks instructors to ”stay true to the scriptures and the words in [this] book. As appropriate, use personal experiences and articles from Church magazines to supplement the lessons.” (Gospel Principles, 2.)

I’ve been frustrated recently by the lack of a text search at LDS.org. It is now possible to cut text from an LDS.org magazine article on one browser tab, paste that text into the LDS.org search on another browser tab, and be told that the text doesn’t exist at LDS.org. Is there any way you (plural) might be able to remedy this problem?

For example, use menu navigation to load the November 1988 issue of the Ensign. Open President Ezra Taft Benson’s closing remarks at the October General Conference. Find the this paragraph:

“I testify that all those who come into mortality accepted our Father’s plan. (See Abr. 3:26.) Having proved faithful in their first estate in heaven, they are now subject to the test of mortality in this second estate. That test entails doing all things whatsoever the Lord requires. (See Abr. 3:25.) Those who prove faithful in this second estate will have glory added upon their heads forever and ever. (See Abr. 3:26.)”

Notice that the words, “entails doing all things whatsoever the Lord requires” contain no punctuation. Copy those words to the clipboard and open LDS.org in a second browser tab. Paste those words (with quote marks) into Search.

    Nothing.

Now search for President Monson’s message in the January 2011 Ensign, “The Lord Needs Missionaries.” Search for the words “obligation the Lord expects of us” (in quotes). President Monson’s article is there.

    What’s up?

With 70,000 called teachers could we get a link to the Teaching and Learning Emphasis, or a mention of SI.LDS.org?
