LDS Magazines Online

Have you noticed that the June issues of the EnsignLiahona, Friend, and New Era magazines are now online? So, if you want to prepare a home teaching or visiting teaching message in advance, you will now have access to the magazines each month by the 20th of the preceeding month. Since we’re still in May, the May issue shows as the “current issue,” but if you click “other issues,” you’ll find the June magazine.

You can access the following languages using the “Select Another Language” button that appears once you’ve selected the June issue of the Liahona: Cebuano, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Mongolian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Samoan, Spanish, Swedish, Tagalog, Tongan, and Ukrainian.

For the languages that use a non-romanized script (Cambodian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Thai), you’ll need to access them from the language pages (languages.lds.org) rather than from the magazine pages (magazines.lds.org).

Do you have an estimate on when the pre-2001 “coming soon” magazine PDFs will arrive? And is there a reason why the magazine page numbers are no longer available with the articles or even with the table of contents?

I have mentioned this before, but do you think there will be a time that the Church will open up the “art” archives so that we can use these pictures and photos for lessons and events that we have periodically in our branches, wards, and missions?

Gary, because of copyright issues, we won’t be able to provide PDF versions of the magazines from 1971 to 2000.

Thanks, Larry, for that clarification. Are the magazine page numbers gone forever?

Gary, you can see the page numbers in the PDF version (for magazines after 2000). I don’t think they’re planning to perpetuate a page number reference in the text itself.

“The PDF version” is certainly valuable, but what happened to the links to download complete issues?

    R. Gary, We have them restored now. Sorry about the mix-up.

    Hello,

I would like to know where can I find old issues of Liahona magazines (portuguese),
    before 2000?

Has the church any ressources for that?

    Thanks

    Rui,

Many meetinghouse libraries have old copies of the Liahona. There are also copies in the Church History Library (see http://history.lds.org/section/library?lang=eng ).

If you are looking for a specific article in an old issue, I may also be able to find it.

    Larry
