LDS Jobs Web Site

For some time, the Church has had an employment page on LDS.org (employment.lds.org).  Learn about the information and helps available on the employment page on LDS.org.

The Church has now launched a new LDS Employment Web Site at ldsjobs.org, designed to help members access employment, education, and self-employment opportunities.

Key Features

  • Job opportunities
  • Community resources
  • Effective job search tips
  • Easy posting of new jobs

LDSjobs.org Can Help Leaders

  • Keep up-to-date on members’ employment needs and progress.
  • Coordinate stake and ward career efforts with employment center staff.
  • Help members find better employment, learn about education opportunities, utilize small-business resources, and share opportunities with others.

Suggestions for Church Leaders

  • Create an account on ldsjobs.org.
  • Encourage members, including the ward council, to become familiar with the site.
  • Share job postings or opportunities with unemployed members.
  • Help members complete profiles and develop career plans.
  • Coach members in achieving their action plans.
  • Record the members’ progress in the online notes.
  • Discuss the members’ progress in ward council meetings.
  • Contact the employment resource center staff for additional training.
  • Learn more about LDS Employment Resource Services and ldsjobs.org by contacting the employment resource center nearest you.

You can also access the site through the LDS.org menu by choosing Resources, then Welfare, and then Employment.

LDS Jobs.org is a great idea, but I have a suggestion.

Our stake is pushing EVERY member to register , not just those looking for work or those who may be hiring. It is a push to get all of us involved in networking, and I think very wise. We are in Michigan and our stake has been hit hard with an unemployment crisis. Leadership is doing everything possible to assist.

The problem is that the site does not have a way to “register”, without declaring that you are looking for a job, or a hiring entity (or if there is, I could not find it.) Is there a way to just register as a potential mentor/just making yourself available for networkers. I would be happy to have job seekers know where I work, and what industry I am in so I can help give advice or whatever to jobseekers, even though I am not in a position to make hiring decisions.

My suggestion is to make a category for registrants like me.

I am seeking a position in Event Planning/Coordinating that will allow me to use my talents and experience of organizing, making friends, providing leadership and direction, multi-tasking, creating new programs, and serving. I am really enjoying the church websites and appreciate the help that is offered. I doubt that I will have to go further than that to find employment! Thank you!
