New Look for LDSMediaTalk

LDSMediaTalk-Header-Oct-2009

This week, we’re proud to launch an updated look for the branding of LDSMediaTalk.com, thanks to the design efforts of Jared Fitch.

The LDS Media Talk blog shares ideas with LDS parents and youth who are interested in learning how to use technology and new media to strengthen families and build The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I began the blog on July 5, 2006 as ldsWebguy.com.

It was later rebranded LDSMediaTalk.com on June 10, 2008 when additional authors joined the blog. This was the header design by Gilbert Lee.

I like the new look and the dad enjoying computer/Internet time with his child. I feel it’s important for parents and grandparents to take an active roll in helping children use technology in safe ways. This is one of the subjects I blog about too.

I like the new header, with the exception of the “Welcome!” text. Why is it formatted to look like a button? If it linked to a welcome/about us page, then it would be okay, but it’s not a button so I think giving that appearance is misleading and potentially confusing.

I clicked on the “welcome” too. :) It would be nice for SEO to have that text in the header be text and not part of the graphic. I really like the fresh feel and the brighter colors. Great job!

Thanks for all you do. I like the clean and easy to navigate feel of the blog. I’m also liking the older posts in the column format with the read more option.
