YouTube Hits 100 Million in January

by Larry Richman on March 18, 2009

YouTube received more than 100 million unique visits in January 2009, making it again the most widely-viewed video service in the USA. The chart below of data from comscore shows the top 10 video sites among US Internet users, based on unique viewers.

Of course, YouTube owes much of its growth to the users who generate the majority of content on the site. eMarketer estimates that 9% of US Internet users (18 million people) will create user-generated videos in 2009.

I’m not sure 9% of all Internet users is 18 million. Is it referring just to US Internet users?

Dave, Yes, it is 9% of US Internet users. I’ll correct the wording in the post.
