Encyclopedia of Mormonism Online in Searchable Text

by Larry Richman on July 11, 2008

In September 2007, we announced that the Encyclopedia of Mormonism was available online at BYU.edu in PDF format. We’re now happy to announce that the Encyclopedia of Mormonism is available in text format that is fully searchable. Each entry also has a link back to a PDF scan of the page from the original 1992 publication.

This is a great resource for information about the Church. It contains one million words in about 1,500 articles in four volumes. Learn more about the project from the Church News and in the Preface.

This is awesome. Much better format than the PDF versions released previously. It is great to have free access to this incredible publication.

Excellent; thanks for the heads up.

Wow! This is pretty impressive. I’d be interested in the process for putting all that info plus links to references into a wikimedia wiki.

Nice work! This is a great resource.

Wonderful use of MediaWiki. Will there ever be additional content added to the Encyclopedia?

This is indeed awesome news. I often reference the EofM in my essays and have long wished for a HTML version to avoid the delay in loading PDFs. Thanks to the team that accomplished this and thanks for letting us know. It is very much appreciated.

Huzzah! This will be great for lessons, study, and blogging! :) Excellent work, as usual.

This is a great resource to have online. I am also glad they have the page titles optimized for search engines. That should make it a little easier to find these topics in Google, etc. Awesome!
