Youth Create Video Testimonies

by Larry Richman on June 14, 2008

“We cannot stand on the sidelines while others, including our critics, attempt to define what the church teaches,” said Elder M. Russell Ballard in a December 2007 address

Youth in the Las Vegas Nevada Redrock Stake made videos of their testimonies during the stake’s April 2008 youth conference.  They were following Elder Ballard’s initiative to “counterbalance negative things on the Internet with first hand experiences of church members.”

Watch the video on Mormon Times.

I have some videos I saw on YouTube by someone called “PreMissionKid” on my blog. I’m the only member in my family, and I think these videos serve as a good way to share the gospel with my friends and family who visit my blog. I don’t know if they’ve looked at them, but they are there and available and very uplifting. I’m so glad that we’ve had this counsel. It makes the gospel so much more accessible (and “shareable”) in this “internet age.”

Great info, and great blog! I’ve just been called to the Stake YM, and I’m looking for ways to use technology to help our youth. Thanks for the ideas.
