The Web has a Version Number?
Recently I posted an entry on LDS CIO about the term “geek” and how it has become, well, pseudo-fashionable.
Only a “geek” would put a version number on the web, but that’s exactly what has happened. The Internet is no longer an infant. We’re now using what is called Web 2.0. If you don’t know that that means, here is a good article that differentiates between Web 1.0 and 2.0.

I wasn’t able to attend your live session at the Church office building today, but it certainly generated a lot of “buzz”. Social networking is a two-edged sword, but I agree with you that we must not be left behind. Controlling our message is no longer an option, as Obama’s campaign people have learned (see their new website dealing with Obama rumours). You have to manage it.
Ahh, but we’re already moving on to Web 3.0: issues like data portability, the semantic web, et. al. are coming to the forefront. It turns out that paradigm shifts have a pretty rapid development cycle
