I agree with the comments above. Tagging both the 'official' content (including Scriptures, General Conference, etc) and the growing number of LDS voices online would draw the community together and collectively upward.

The iPhone Scriptures" created by Chuck Phillips has a community tagging feature you can view here:

http://tall.mountainmighty.com/#_tag_cloud

Community tagging here has helped me identify meaningful scriptures on a topic that aren't in the topical guide or standard search. As an additional tool to aid in my "searching" of the scriptures, its been valuable to me.

Before I was aware of the scripturetag.com website, I had toyed with the idea of a scripture tagging site myself. It would interesting if the official LDS scriptures site allowed visitors to create accounts and groups to tag and annotate scriptures.

Of course, there are problems with allowing just anyone to publicly tag scriptures on the official site. Some anti-mormons could create a group dedicated to tagging certain scriptures as "false."

To avoid that the tags would probably have to be private to the group and not displayed publicly.

At the same time it would be a great tool of seminary and institute classes, extended families living in remote places, missionaries, etc. to share scripture study insights.

It would be great if there was a central Bloggernacle tagging site which collected the tags from the entire Bloggernacle into a single tag cloud, and allowed people to add tags to sites or articles also.
