Digital Smiley Face :-) is 25 Years Old

According to the Oct 1st issue of RCR Wireless News, the digital smiley face :-) is 25 years old. Scott E. Fahlman claims he was the first person to put a colon, hyphen, and right parenthesis together to form a horizontal smiley face. Mr. Fahlman is a professor at Carnegie Mellon University.
